Canada film festival to screen Iran’s ‘No Date, No Signature’

Vahid Jalilvand’s ‘No Date, No Signature’ is to go on screen at the Vancouver Int’l Film Festival in Canada.

Vahid Jalilvand’s ‘No Date, No Signature’ has been set to go on screen at the Vancouver International Film Festival (VIFF) in Canada.

Jalilvand’s movie, produced by his brother Ali, stars Hediyeh Tehrani, Amir Aqaei, Saeed Dakh, Alireza Ostadi and Navid Mohammadzadeh.

The movie narrates the story of Kaveh Nariman, a doctor who works at the Iranian Legal Medicine Organization. He has to examine the corpse of someone that he used to know in the past.

‘No Date, No Signature’ premiered at the 35th edition of the Fajr Film Festival and received three Crystal Simorgh awards for best director, best actor in a supporting role and best sound mixer.

The movie has so far taken part at a number of international events. More recently, the flick scooped Best Director and Best Actor awards at the Venice Horizons section of the 74th Venice Film Festival, Italy.

Launched in 1982, the Vancouver International Film Festival (VIFF) is an annual film festival held in Vancouver, British Columbia, for two weeks in late September and early October.

VIFF continues to expand the frame to create multi-experiential streams that include some of the best cinema from around the world, fused with related talks and events, in a unique way.

Festival audiences and creators have a chance to discover, discuss and connect more at one of North America's most accessible events, in one of the most beautiful cities on the planet.

VIFF 2017 is slated for September 28 - October 13 in British Columbia, Canada.
